Be Your Own Personal Development Coach

If you are unhappy, or not as happy as you think you could be, maybe all you need are a few simple changes to your life. Nothing major, just a few tweaks here and there. Here are 11 personal development goals you can work towards that will help you improve your life.

Personal Development Goals

1) Discover Your Life’s Purpose

Stop for a minute and focus on the reason you do what you do on a daily basis. Figure out the “why” if you will.  Why were you put on this earth? What are you to accomplish? As a way to find their life’s purpose, some people choose an exercise like yoga or running because of its meditation element and through it they can learn how to go deep inside their self and find their purpose. Others choose to get out more in nature. Whatever works for you!

Once you connect with your purpose, you’ll have a whole new outlook on life. Your energy level will go up, you’ll have a new spring in your step and
you will feel like you could conquer the world! Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our daily life that we lose track of why we are here in the first place.

 2) Focus on Health and Fitness

Frequently you hear the phrase “If you have your health, you have everything!” It is so true, because if you don’t have good health, it can make everything else in life seem harder to achieve.

Yet we see people every day abusing their health. They smoke, drink too much alcohol, eat too much unhealthy food, gain weight to the point of becoming obese and then become couch potatoes, and complain about the bad hand of life they were dealt.

Don’t be that person. Decide to live a healthy lifestyle. Focus on eating a clean diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, fish and whole grains. If the food comes out of a package or from a drive-thru, avoid it.

To keep your body strong, get some exercise. The American Heart Association recommends getting at least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise to maintain your health. If you are overweight, you will have to do more than the minimum until you get down to the weight that is proportional to your height. Focus on cardio to burn fat and strength training to build muscle. Find a type of exercise you like to do and stick with it.

Oh… and the excuse of not having the time to exercise won’t work either. Everyone can find time to exercise; it is just making it a priority to do it. Exercising has a way of making you feel good. It will also improve your outlook on life and your emotional health, increase your productivity, and give you some clarity on your life purpose.

3) Get Enough Good Sleep

When we sleep, it is a time when our body recharges itself. Repairs are made to muscles and bodily systems; the mind and body are busy all night trying to get you ready for the next day. But what happens if you don’t get 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep? You start out the day with a half-full tank of gas instead of a full one.

Look at why you are not sleeping as long or as well as you should. It could be you are thinking about something that is keeping you awake at night. Or it could be environmental. Look at the quality of your mattress and bedding, temperature of your bedroom, the amount of light coming in through the window, noise outside… everything. Change what is causing you issues and get the rest you need.

 4) Be Grateful

Use this daily practice to appreciate everything around you and what you have in your life. For example, take a 20-minute slow walk outside. Smell the air, listen to the birds sing, feel the heat of the sun on your skin. Revel in Nature and all she has to offer.

It helps some people if they write down their thoughts and gratitude in a journal  There is something about the act of writing on paper that is so much more satisfying than typing on a computer. Your journal can be one with prompts on writing about your gratitude or just a plain notebook. It really doesn’t matter as it is a vehicle to store your thoughts. The act of writing your ideas on paper is what’s important.

 5) Always Have a Goal

Having a goal ties in with finding your life purpose. Some people flounder in the sea of life the whole time they are here on earth without ever accomplishing anything. Having a goal gives you a purpose for getting up in the morning. It gives you a focus for the day and another opportunity of working toward your goal. And what do you do when you reach your goal? Set a new and loftier one!

If you are overweight, your goal could be to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. Or maybe you are reaching the end of your career and want to downsize and travel.

Just make sure your goal is SMART:

 • Specific – State exactly your end goal or what it is that you want to accomplish.
 • Measurable – How are you going to gauge whether you are making progress?
 • Attainable – Are there things that could get in your way and prevent you from reaching your goal? Clear the roadblocks before starting.
 • Realistic – Can you achieve your goal? Do you have all the assets and resources that you need to be successful?
 • Time-sensitive – Set a timetable with an ending date when you plan on being at your end goal.

Set smaller mini-goals or mileposts in between so you can track progress. Celebrate each accomplishment with a reward. Just make sure the reward does not sabotage the goal.

6) Choose to be Happy

Yes, it is a choice! The mind is a powerful thing. None of us use it to its fullest capability. However, we can use part of it to establish a positive mindset. One goal all of us should strive for each day is to improve and enhance the quality of our life… even by just 1%. It is just as easy to have a positive mindset as it is a negative one.

Personal Development Ideas | Be your own personal development coach with these 11 simple ways to improve your life. Create a personal development plan and change your life for the better. #change #selfimprovement #personalgrowth #changeyourlife #selfdevelopment #personaldevelopment

7) Keep a Stop-Doing List

Many people keep a to-do list, but not many keep a stop-doing list. Yes, this is just what it sounds like, but once you start doing it, you will be amazed. Start by writing down habits you have that are unproductive and basically a waste of time. Remember the excuse “I don’t have the time.” Actually, you’ll find you have lots of time once you start documenting how you are spending it and identify the things you no longer need to do. Now you have that time you need to exercise. No more excuses!

8) Connect with People

Human beings are social animals; in other words, we generally like to be in the company of other people. Yet for some reason some of us divorce ourselves socially from others. This is a mistake!

Multiple study results all show that people are happier when they are around other people – especially positive-minded ones. Whether you connect on social media, call on the phone or meet in person, fill your social cup daily with an interaction with other people. Tell them how much you appreciate having them as a friend, relative… whatever. It will be good for both of you!

9) Make Life-long Learning a Habit

Strive to learn something new each day. In doing so, it’ll keep your mind sharp and healthy longer than if you stagnate and do nothing. If approaching retirement, do something that you have always wanted to do, but never seemed to have the time or took the time earlier in life to do.

And it doesn’t have to be book-learning. Some people like to travel. For them, experiencing new sights, sounds, cuisine and culture is learning at its finest and all the new activity keeps their mind sharp.

 10) Reduce Stress

Physiologically we need stress to survive as a species. But what was an occasional response our ancient ancestors had to a “fight or flight” situation, has become an all day, every day event for many of us.

And that is when it becomes an issue, both mentally and physically. When under stress, your body releases a hormone called cortisol. It is meant to reduce potential pain from an upcoming situation, increase your awareness and resolve, sharpen your senses, etc… all things you need to either stand your ground or to run.

But our body today is interpreting everyday stressful situations and in response, dumping too much cortisol into our systems too often. This is leading to health-related issues because of it. Reduce the amount of stress you are under… even if it means getting a different job.

11) Focus on What You Can Control

Too many times we see people, and maybe you are one of them, that seem to waste a lot of thought and energy on things they have no control over. Don’t do that! That is an unproductive behavior that you will never benefit from… except getting more frustrated.

For example, global warming is a big topic of discussion right now. But how much effect can you have over it? Yes, do your small part, but don’t waste the time and energy thinking you are going to solve this global issue singlehandedly. Instead, focus on the things you can control, like how you spend your 24 hours each day being productive, helping others, happy and living a healthy lifestyle.

So there you go 11 things you can do to improve your life. Some of you may only need a few of them to get to a quality of life that you choose to have; others may have to use most or all of them if looking for big changes. Regardless, you only have one life to live, so live it well, and happy.

Why practice mindfulness for anxiety?

When we suffer from anxiousness our minds confuse worry and speculation with fact instead of recognising that they are just thoughts. We obsess over the past and are fearful for the future. This can become so severe that it can bring on a physical response.
Mindfulness is perfect for helping with anxiety as it brings us back to the present. By focusing on the here and now, what’s around us and what we feel in the present moment we can shift our attention from those anxious thoughts.

Mindfulness exercises are usually simple and quick and can usually be practiced wherever you are. They can also reduce cortisol which is a hormone that can contribute to stress and anxiety.

Here are 5 quick mindfulness exercises to relieve anxiety and focus the mind.

Mindfulness exercises for anxiety

Anchoring

Anchor yourself by focusing completely on the lower half of your body. Start with your feet and how they feel. How do your shoes or socks feel? If you are barefoot how does the drowned feel? Are you standing on carpet, wood flooring, grass? How does it feel beneath your feet?
Progress upward to your legs, how do they feel? Do your muscles feel loose or tight and tense? What sensations can you feel in your legs? What temperature are they? Are they tingling, do you feel pain? End by focusing on the breath.
The beauty of this exercise is that it can be done any place and anytime.

Three Senses

This is a really simple and quick mindfulness exercise. Focus on what you are experiencing through the senses of sound sight and touch.

  • What 3 things can you hear?
  • What 3 things can you see?
  • Reach out, what 3 things can you feel?
Go through this exercise slowly, name each answer in your mind. You can’t do this without being present and mindful.

Observation Exercise

Choose something small, like a stone, a leaf or a flower. If you can hold it in your hands and take a good look at it and try to observe everything about it. Focus all of your attention on it.
Notice the items appearance, what size and shape is it? What colours can you see? Does the item have different textures?
Do not assess the item or judge it just observe it for what it is.

A Thought Audit

Stop what you are doing and notice what thoughts are going through your head right now. Focus on your thoughts but don’t label or judge them.

I like to think of my thoughts as butterflies fluttering around me. I observe the butterflies and am completely aware of them but I don’t pick out one butterfly over another.
I don’t notice good or bad butterflies, happy or sad ones, or ugly or beautiful ones. I simply am aware of and acknowledge all of the butterflies.

This exercise brings you back to the present moment which can reduce anxious feelings.

How To Change Your Life With Everyday Mindfulness

Practicing Mindfulness Isn’t Just About Meditation

I mean, meditation is a huge part of mindfulness of course, but almost everything we do in our daily lives can be done in a mindful way.

In an ideal world we would all be able to spend hours meditating and bringing peace to our lives but real life doesn’t always allow for that.

But don’t worry you don’t have to kiss mindfullness goodbye. This is where everyday mindfulness comes in. All it requires is that we be more aware and more present as we go about our lives.

10 Everyday Mindfulness Activities

Wake Up With Purpose

Try to wake up a bit earlier each morning. This gives you more time to be mindful. As you waken think about how you are grateful for that day. Do some gentle stretches, eat a healthy breakfast and do something that makes you smile. This could be listening to music, reading a few pages of a book, or writing in your journal.
Think about the joy you are going to find in that day and state a clear intention, something that you are going to achieve no matter how small.
Taking time like this will equip you for the day ahead.

Take A Mindfulness Shower

Your shower is the perfect place to practice mindfulness. You are alone, in peace and the chances are for at least 10 minutes nobody is going to disturb you.
Really feel the water as it hits your body. What’s the pressure? What temperature is it? Be aware of each part of your body as you wash it. Really notice the smell of your soap or body wash and your shampoo. Focus on your breath as you shower.
As you dry, again be aware of your body and of each item of clothing as you dress.

Create A Morning Coffee Ritual

I must admit I am very guilty of putting the coffee on in the morning with my eyes practically shut. Grabbing a quick cup and drinking it while running round the house doing everything that needs to be done. But I’m trying to change all that.
Treat your morning coffee like a ritual, take your time over it.
Don’t just do everything on autopilot, be present. When preparing your coffee be aware of each step. Notice the smell while it is brewing then take time to sit and drink it using your favourite mug. Savouring the taste of each sip. This is fast becoming an extremely important ritual to me as I feel I am taking time to think and organise the the day ahead.

Mindfulness activities | Practice mindfulness everyday with this list of mindfulness techniques to include in your daily routine. #mindfulness #mindfullnessmondays

Mindful Driving

Obviously there are certain mindfulness techniques that you can’t put into practice whilst driving. You can’t close your eyes or focus only on your breath, but there are some things you can do whilst driving safely.

Turn off the music and enjoy the silence. This will increase your awareness and leave you calmer and more focused.
Be aware of your posture whilst driving. Are you tensing muscles, or clenching your jaw as you concentrate? Once you are aware of this you can let the muscles relax and have a much more comfortable experience.

Try not to be in so much of a hurry and to be more aware and considerate of the traffic around you.
When you stop at traffic lights, take that moment for a few calm deep breaths.

Mindful Eating

In my full time job I don’t always get a lot of time to eat. Sometimes it just can’t be helped, it’s the nature of the job. I’m running about grabbing a few bites here and there or I eat in the car during a 5 minute break. None of this is good for you, so as often as I can I try to take the time to sit and properly enjoy my food.

First of all, be sure you are eating for the right reasons. Are you actually hungry or is this just an emotional response? If you are eating because you are upset or just because you are bored then alternative activities can be found to address that emotion.

Don’t eat too fast, take your time. Chew your food properly and savour each mouthful. Take a gap between each bite, it’s much easier for your mind to be aware that your body is full. Be aware of the different tastes and textures of your meal and notice the smell of the food.

Think about the food you are eating. Where did it come from, what processes did it have to go through? How was it grown/prepared? How much work went into getting that food onto your plate?
Try to plan your mealtimes. Eat at regular times and places. Try to sit down at a table using the correct plates and utensils (no eating out of the carton). Eating with others is also good as it allows you to slow your eating down and have a conversation.

Check Your Email Mindfully

Computer screens tend to zone us out. We skim through emails and don’t pay close attention to what we are reading.
We actually need to be more attentive with emails as they can often be misread or misinterpreted as we can’t see the other person to read non verbal cues. It is easy to become disconnected when you are just looking at a screen so please try to remember that you are communicating with another person and maintain a connection.
Take a breath and visualise the person who wrote the email as you are reading and replying to it. Always check your email before sending it.
Try to limit the amount of times you check your emails in a day. It’s easy for your emails to become a distraction.
Also, try to lose all the spammy stuff, unsubscribe from emails that you never read and just clutter up your inbox.

Take A Mindfulness Walk

Walking is a really easy way to include mindfulness into your daily routine. This doesn’t have to be a 5 mile hike. The 10 minute walk to the bus stop will work just as well.
Walk at a natural pace and be aware of your posture. Focus on your movements, the lift and fall of your feet. Always be aware of the environment around you so you can stay safe as you walk.
If you can, stop for a minute. Now you can really take in your environment. Are you surrounded by buildings? Are there people around you? Are there trees next to you, what colour are the leaves? Reach out and feel the texture. Be aware of every detail of your surroundings what can you hear? What can you smell?
Now carry on walking, noticing everything around you. As you reach your destination bring the focus back to your feet and your bodies movements.
Once you have finished your walk, take a moment just to breathe.

Mindful Listening

We interact with a lot of people on a daily basis. Whenever you do so try to be fully present for the conversation.
Pay close attention to what is being said to you and try not to let your mind wander.  If you can try not to multi task during a conversation, it’s very hard to pay close attention to what someone is saying while you are checking your emails.
Listen closely to what is being said. Don’t just hear it, understand it.  Show interest in the conversation, nod or smile and show encouragement. Express curiosity and ask appropriate questions. Make it clear to the person you are talking to that you are invested in the conversation.

Write Down Your Intentions For The Following Day

Take time each night to write in a notebook or journal  Reflect on the day that has just passed and set clear intentions for what you want to achieve the following day.
Stating that you intend to do something is much more powerful than simply wanting or planning to do it. Once you have the clear statement in your mind you are much more likely to follow through with the intention.
Writing your intentions down also enforces the intention much more than if you just held it in your head. It’s almost like a contract with yourself.

Create A Mindful Environment For Sleep

Believe it or not we spend a very high percentage of our time in our bedrooms, yet most of us spare no thought to the impact that environment will have on us and our ability to sleep well.
Try not to let in too much natural light in during the summer months when the sun can rise at 4 am. Thicker curtains and blinds should help reduce this.
Give yourself plenty of space to move around as you prepare for bed and when you get up in morning. Clutter gives us a sense of chaos rather than the calm that is essential for a good nights sleep.
Regulate your temperature according to the season, thick quilts in winter and thinner blankets or sheets during the summer. We all know what it’s like trying to sleep when it’s too hot and the sweat is dripping off you. Using a fan (or heater) for a couple of hours will help regulate the temperature before you go to sleep.
Your comfort is very important when it comes to sleeping well. Make sure you have a good quality mattress, pillows that support your neck and loose, comfortable clothing. Lastly I recommend that you turn off all technology at least an hour before bed. Choose an activity that is less stimulating for your mind so you can relax before you fall asleep.

I don’t recommend trying all of these mindfulness activities at once. Take your time, choose 1 or 2 to start with and build up gradually.

What Is Mindfulness? - A Beginners Guide

Mindfulness activities | Learn how to practice mindfulness and the benefits of mindful living. Try these mindfulness techniques and adopt these mindful habits into your everyday routine. #mindfulness #mindfulmondays

What Is Mindfulness?

The practice of mindfulness means to maintain a constant awareness of thoughts, feelings and the world around us.
Have you ever gone on a journey, driven from A to B or walked a familiar route and realised that you remember nothing of the journey?  Finished a meal and had no memory of eating it? I’ve even read pages of a book and not took any of it in!

It happens to us all and is a perfect example of mindlessness, a complete lack of awareness.
When we are on autopilot it is almost like being in a dreamlike state, we are not present in life.
Going through life this way means, we are not properly in tune with our thoughts, we may miss important signals from our bodies and will fail to notice the beauty in life and our surrounding environment. We are so busy doing that we forget to be aware and really live our lives to the full.

So Why Is Mindfulness Important?

On autopilot we are so busy doing that we forget to be aware and really live our lives to the full. We leave ourselves open to depression, anxiety and stress.
When we are mindful we wake up from this dreamlike state and fully participate in life.

The Benefits Of Mindfulness

There are so many benefits to mindfulness that I could write all day but for everyone’s sake I’ve condensed it down to this list.
  • Your stress will be reduced.
  • Decreased feelings of depression.
  • General health can be improved.
  • You may find you are more patient.
  • You may perform better at work.
  • Better control over emotions.
  • Increased self awareness.
  • Improved sleep.
  • Memory may be improved.
  • Increased patience, focus and concentration.
  • Greater satisfaction.
  • It’s completely free.

How To Practice Mindfulness

Now I can’t promise you a state of complete bliss. Mindfulness is all about bringing your mind to the present moment.
Your mind will wander as minds tends to do but learning to be aware of this and making a conscious choice to return to the present is the important thing.
Mindfulness is a simple concept that can be tricky, but with regular practice the work will soon pay off.

Here are some key points to practicing mindfulness.

  • Give yourself a set amount of time. 5 or 10 minutes is a good place to start. You can build up the time as your practice improves.
  • Choose a time of day where you won’t be interrupted.
  • Practice mindfulness in a space that is calm and peaceful.
  • Focus on the breath and bringing your mind back to the present.
  • We all have judgements. Acknowledge yours and then let them pass. Do not focus or dwell on them.
  • Accept that your mind will wander and just gently bring it back to the present.
  • Be conscious of your body and posture. Ensure you are in a stable and comfortable position.
  • Don’t try to shut everything out. If there is noise around you acknowledge it then bring your mind back to focusing on the present.
  • Don’t dwell on the past or worry about the future.
  • Don’t attempt to empty your mind, accept your thoughts and move past them. Always bring the focus back to the present.

Mindfulness Habits You Need To Adopt

  • Stop clock watching.
  • Notice the environment around you.
  • Take a tech and social media break every day.
  • Listen intently. Give each conversation you have your undivided attention.
  • Learn to trust your gut.
  • Always think before you speak.
  • Be kind to yourself.
  • Make time each day just for you.
  • Try to be aware of your breathing as much as possible.
  • Be grateful.
  • Don’t let another persons negative mood affect yours.
  • However you must accept your own emotions and feel whatever you feel.
  • Don’t fill your house with clutter, think before you buy.

5 Mindfulness Exercises To Get You Started

Mindful Breathing

Start by slowly breathing in and out. Take 3 seconds on the inhale and 3 on the exhale.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Make the breathe effortless.

Concentrate fully on the breathe. Let go of your thoughts. Let them pass you by.

Focus on your body. Watch the rise and fall of the breath.

Start with practicing this exercise for 1 minute and gradually build up the time.

Mindful Body Scan

This meditation practice is an easy way to get in touch with how you are feeling.
Starting at the feet and gradually moving up to the head focus on each body part, paying close attention to how you feel.

Set A Daily Intention

Choose 1 thing that you wish to accomplish each day. Make the intention a bold statement.

I intend to finish the group project today”

An intention is so much more powerful than a hope or even a plan. Being intentional implies determination. When you set the intention you are determined to make it happen.
Each intention gives your day a sense of purpose.

Mindful Seeing

Look out of the window. What can you see? Trees? Cars? People? Birds?

Now really look. What colours and textures can you see, focus on how everything moves. How do the things you are looking at interact with one another?

Really focus on everything you can see, if your attention wanders bring it back to the colour or texture.

The Five Senses Exercise

This one is pretty self explanatory. You notice something that you are experiencing with each of the five senses.
  • 5 things you can see. Try to choose things that you don’t normally notice.
  • 4 things you can feel. What textures, surfaces and sensations can you feel?
  • 3 things you can hear. Notice what you can hear in the background. Try to separate the sounds.
  • 2 things you can smell. Take notice of pleasant or unpleasant odours.
  • 1 thing you can taste.

So Can Mindful Living Can Change Your Life?

I can’t tell you that your life will change instantly but I can tell you how my life has changed.
Since I began practicing mindfulness I have become so much more aware. I’m aware of other people’s feelings, I notice the beauty in life and because of this I can appreciate this life a lot more.
I don’t let the little things get to me so much, I can take a breath and realise that I don’t need to react to this situation.
In reality my life hasn’t changed, the things that used to stress me out are still there for the main part. It’s how I choose to respond to these stressors that is different. The change is within me, not life that happens around me.
That’s the beauty of Mindfulness you don’t need to take on the world, just yourself.

I would recommend to anyone to give mindfulness a try. If you have already began the practice, how is it going for you?

Are You Desperately Trying To Grow Your Blog?

So you have set up your lovely website, produced a good amount of high quality content, now what? How do you get your content out there? How do you get all that lovely traffic to your blog?

Launching a blog and writing quality posts is only the beginning. You need to get eyes on your posts and I’m going to tell you straight, it’s hard and very time consuming. At least in the beginning.

You should be spending way more time promoting your blog posts than you spend writing them. This doesn’t mean that you should rush your content creation, you always need to go for quality. So I would recommend writing no more than 2 blog posts a week to give you the time needed to market your blog.

So how do you promote your blog posts? Where do you promote them and how often? What exactly should you be doing to promote your blog and drive traffic? Let’s dive in.

Tips For Driving Traffic To Your Blog

  • Know your target audience. If you know your audience well you will be able to write content that they want to read.
  • Hang out where your audience are online.
  • Write a killer headline. Make people want to click through and read your post.
  • Make sure that the majority of your content is evergreen. Your posts need to always be relevant to your readers, not just on 1 or 2 days of the year.
  • Use good SEO from the beginning.
  • Install google analytics and learn which type of content is your most popular so you can replicate it.
  • Internal linking is a must. This is where you link to other relevant posts. The aim is to keep the reader interested and on your site for as long as possible.
  • Give a great user experience. Make sure that your site has good design and is easy to navigate. Use images and short paragraphs to avoid huge chunks of writing. You could also use a bullet list like this one! All of these things make your content easier to read.
  • Start an email list. This one may seem very daunting but believe me this is the one of the best things you can do for your blog.
  • Be consistent. Whatever your blogging schedule, stick to it.
  • Be patient, don’t lose heart and don’t give up. Your hard work will pay off.
  • Be prepared to learn. A lot. I wasn’t prepared for how much I would have to learn when I first started. It can seem overwhelming but take your time and learn each topic thoroughly. I know now that a blogger is never done learning. Blogging is an ever changing enterprise and nobody can ever know it all.

Places To Promote Your Blog

So you’ve written a killer blog post. Your headline is going to hook them in, you’ve solved a problem for your reader and it’s easy to read. Now what do you do?

Most of us don’t realise how much content marketing is involved in blogging. We are under the impression that if we write a great post then people will read it. If only it were that easy.

But don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be scary. I have a checklist of everything I need to after I hit publish, it keeps me organised.

Here is a list of places you can promote your brand new blog post.

  • Submit your post to google.
  • Tweet your post
  • Promote your post on Pinterest. Make 2 to 3 pins for each new post. Pin them to relevant niche boards first. Then pin to your blogs main board and finally to your group boards. Pinterest can be a lot of work but you can use scheduling tools like Tailwind .
  • Post your content to your Facebook page.
  • Promote your content on Instagram. This one is a bit more difficult as you can’t link from individual posts. If you make your image relevant to your post and use popular hashtags, it can be highly effective for brand awareness.
  • Join Facebook groups for bloggers and take part in the promotional threads to help boost your traffic.
  • Share your content on Reddit. Join relevant subreddits and link to your content. You must remember not to overshare as you can easily be marked as spam.
  • LinkedIn. Not an obvious one but I get a surprising amount of traffic from posting to LinkedIn groups.
  • Submit your site on Bloglovin
  • Leave comments on other bloggers posts. This leaves a link to your site.
  • StumbleUpon. I’m not a fan of this as it’s not good quality traffic and can raise your bounce rate. It does give you traffic though and some bloggers seem to swear by it. So by all means give it a try but I wouldn’t recommend it as a long term strategy.
  • Add a link to your blog in your email signature.
  • Ensure you have a link in all of your social media bios.
  • Having social share buttons on each blog posts means your readers can promote your post for you.
  • Guest posting will provide you with a backlink to your blog. Check Facebook groups for bloggers looking for people to guest post on their blog. Also don’t be afraid to approach bloggers in your niche if you wish to guest post on their site.
